Project Name: Consultancy Services for the Design of Ibanda Central Market in Ibanda Municipality and Nyahuka Central Market in Nyahuka Town Council, Bundibugyo District Under the Markets and Agricultural Trade Improvement Programme Project second project (MATIP – 2)
Description
The Ugandan Government has received a Loan from the African Development Bank, im the amount of USD 84.21million on ADB/AGTF to finance the Markets and Agricultural Trade Improvement Programme Project 2 (MATIP – 2) and intends to apply the proceeds of this Loan to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.
Objective
- To carry out comprehensive market designs basing on the current needs for the proposed markets and come up with appropriate designs that fit within the allocated budget.
- To incorporate the proposed first level value addition facilities as an integral part of the market.
- Ensure timely completion and value for money in the sense that contractors deliver what has been designed and approved.
- Construction supervision.
Scope
- Carry out needs assessment, preliminary designs and final designs for compliance with current and future users’ needs.
- Consult with TPC and Executive committee of the urban councils at all stages of the design process
- Carry out the necessary analysis and produce drawings and specifications for the proposed first level value addition facilities as an integral part of the market
- Undertake consultations with other relevant institutions i.e ADB, MAIIF, MITTI, MOGLSD, MUK – FONUS, Namalere – AEATREC, UIRI, MOLHUD
- Participate in Contractor procurement processes if requested by the Client
- Obtain the necessary approvals for the revised designs from the relevant Regulatory Authorities.
